One of the biggest expenses when deep dropping the continental shelf for tasty morsels such as blue eye cod, ocean perch, hapuka and bar cod is the large quantity of braided line required to fish the extreme depths.
While ebay abounds with Chinese spools of braid with dubious breaking strain ratings, Amazon seems to have some pretty sharp pricing (around $117!) on "Made in USA" 2000 yard spools of Fins Windtamer braid. These spools should give enough continuous unbroken line to bomb even the deepest trenches and canyons for tasty ooglies.
